Tom Long’s battle with Multiple Myeloma
Lisa Wilkinson interviewed Aussie Actor and multiple myeloma patient Tom Long on The Sunday Project to help raise awareness for blood cancer and the need for more research in Australia. The story is heartbreaking, Tom is hanging on to hope. Hope that a CAR-T cell treatment that he has to travel to the US for will give him another shot at life. By his side are his wife and beautiful children. Sadly Tom’s story is not unusual. The Snowdome Foundation recognises the need to fast track research in Australia so blood cancer patients don’t have to travel, don’t have to mortgage their homes and don’t have to leave behind loved ones.
