Cartherics proudly supports the White Shirt Campaign
Cartherics is hosting a White Shirt Day lunch on 8th May to help raise funds and awareness for ovarian cancer. The White Shirt Campaign officially launches on April 11th and culminates on White Shirt Day (8 May) – World Ovarian Cancer Day.
The campaign is a 15-year partnership between the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation (OCRF) and Australian fashion icon, Witchery. This campaign has contributed more than $15 million to research that is tackling early detection and improving treatments.
Today, a woman or girl diagnosed with ovarian cancer faces a 49% chance of surviving five years. The average five-year survival rate for all cancers nationwide is over 70%. It is one of the most lethal cancers affecting women.
Cartherics Board Advisor and ovarian cancer survivor, Heather Hawkins said, “Hosting this White Shirt Day fundraising lunch is such a terrific initiative and a wonderful expression of compassion and care by the team at Cartherics, for women and their families facing ovarian cancer. I continue to be deeply impressed and so very grateful for Cartherics’ unwavering commitment to bring change and save lives.”
Ovarian cancer research funding remains disproportionately low compared to funding for many other cancers with much higher survival rates. The White Shirt Campaign helps bring ovarian cancer into the national conversation and highlights the need for greater funding to improve treatments and ultimately save lives.
All donations will support the OCRF to fund more ovarian cancer research across Australia & New Zealand. To donate, please visit: https://www.ocrf.com.au/my-fundraising/536/cartherics-pty-ltd
